FOODIE 101 - A high tea to remember

Amber Chapman

Whilst Mother's Day has been and gone, it doesn't mean you need to wait to a whole year to spoil mum again!

Visit The Garden, By Lotus Dining Group to experience a unique take on traditional high tea experiences. Set inside the Chinese Garden of Friendship you really experience a true break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Within the garden walls you can take in the peaceful and quiet nature of the gardens that surround the restaurant. We were seated near the water’s edge and my two-year-old, Aurora was fascinated by all of the Koi fish. Whilst the surroundings were amazing, it is the food and the service that really sets this high tea apart!

Clothing credit: Aurora is wearing a Floral Bomber Jacket available at TK Maxx, RRP $34.95.

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a lover of dumplings and these were just divine.
The chef created a beautiful selection of mini bao’s each with a delicious filling.

And as for desert their Pastry Chef, Pierrick Nicol really out did themselves by creating not only a visually beautiful desert platter, but truly mouth-watering macaroons and petit fours.

Throughout our high tea we were served a selection of beautiful Chinese tea’s, such as China Lycee, a black Chinese tea with a mellow sweet lychee flavour and Pai Mu Tan Strawberry, a black tea with infused strawberry pieces. With a selection of 11 teas to choose from we really were spoilt for choice.

This high tea is not just suited to mums. It makes a perfect treat for your partner, catch up with friends or even a working business lunch!
